It's Graduation week again! SBM Graduation is an annual ceremony
to celebrate students who have completed their tertiary education in Nanyang
Polytechnic. It was segmented to three different sessions:
morning, afternoon and evening, each consisting of various diploma
holders.
Prior to the event, members of EMRS team 2 and 4 had to help the
facilitators by role playing the graduate, going up on stage to receive the
diploma and making our way down. We attended numerous rehearsals to
allow us to familiarize ourselves.
19th May 2015 is the actual SBM Graduation Day! Everyone
were anxious and nervous about the event as they knew the importance of this
day. For the people in-charge of the morning shift, they had to report at 7am.
We attended a briefing done by Mr Puar about the duties assigned to us for the
event. After the briefing, we headed to our respective locations.
We were in-charge of the registration booth where graduates
register themselves and then proceed on to put on their graduation gowns.
Shortly after, we were asked to help out in the ushering duties as well. We formed a line to lead the graduates back to their seat once they collect their diploma.
After three shifts, we were exhausted. However, we felt that our
effort was worthwhile and appreciated when Mr Puar sent us an email thanking
and praising us.
Looking at cordial and blithe faces of the graduates, I could also
feel the exuberance of the overwhelming positive energy from the graduates
which served as a form of encouragement to push on to complete our final year.
Last but not least, congratulations to the graduating classes of
2015, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors! :)
