Sports Day Event

EMRS Sports Day was held on the 26th June 2014 from 1.30am to 5.00pm at the sports hall. The objective of this event is to bond both teams and have fun. This event was organized by the EMRS students from Team 3.

Planning
The planning stage started on 17th June 2014. We brainstormed for the games we would like to have at the event. In the end, we came up with six games and discussed with both teams to confirm the games that we would play on event day.

Preparation
On the day of the event, we asked both teams to draw lots to allocate them into their respective teams. For the logistics, we cut the raffia strings that will be used for the 3-legged race and collected the cones from the equipment room.

Actual Day
We started off with stretching exercise before playing the games. We kicked off the sports day event with captain's ball followed by 3 legged race and then relay run. Overall, everyone had fun.

Wrap-Up
After an exhaustive day, the event came to a closure. We are very thankful that everyone cooperated to make this event a successful one with our objective met.

Have you ever bought something using sites like eBay or Amazon? If you have, you are already exposed to online shopping. The objective of this talk is to introduce ways on how to effectively boost and manage online business using social platforms.

Stars of the day (Left to right): Mr JJ Tan, Mr Andrew, and Mr Brennan Loh

Mr Brennan Loh highlighted creative ways that leading online brands such as Herschel, Chubbies and Johnny Cupcakes used to boost business. These brands yield great amounts of profits through using online platforms. Mr Brennan even shared that you can run your business online, using Shopify Mobile(app) wherever you are.

Do you know that there are even butchers selling meat online? This is how versatile online shopping is!

Branding is an important aspect when it comes to setting up an online store. Our last speakers, Mr JJ Tan and Mr Andrew illustrated the importance of branding and showed us some examples of good design.

Wrap up

Through this talk, we gained more insights on how to set up an online store by using online platforms such as Shopify. Our teamwork has further improved as compared to our previous event. In an event, there is bound to be unexpected situations. Thus, we must be able to think on our feet and be vigilant at all times. Our next event will be coming soon so do keep a look out for it!

Overall, the event was a success and we had a great time. We would like to express our gratitude to the speakers for coming down to NYP despite their busy schedules. We thank all NYP staff and students who attended and supported this event!

Clinique Fair By Team 2

Clinique Fair was held on the 10th & 11th June 2014 at the Auditorium Lobby and we helped to organise and execute the event. Skincare products such as the 3-Steps skincare system and the Anti-Blemish were the main products. And what's so attractive about this event is that all products were up to 70% discount off the price.

Pre-Event Preparations
We only have 2 weeks of preparation time for this Clinique Fair. We assigned roles to everyone, delegated tasks to each department and drew up a project timeline, so that we are on the right track and able to get things done.

Look at them working so hard!

NYP Triumph Exclusive Sale (10 - 11 June 2014)

Nanyang Polytechnic Triumph Exclusive Sale was held on the 10th to 11th June 2014 from 10.30am to 4.30pm at the Auditorium Lobby. It featured a wide range of fashion intimates for both men and women with discounts up to 70%. This event was organized by EMRS students from Team 3.

Planning

The planning stage started on 3rd June 2014. We started off with designing the posters for the event and due to the sensitivity of the products, lots of editing was required for the posters. For instance, no female graphics are allowed in the campus. Hence, the approval process took almost 2 weeks.

Final Approved Poster

Preparation

Three days before the event, we went around the school to place our posters so as to create awareness for our event. We also created a buzz in different social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram about our event.
